Glen Ellyn Food Pantry’s Kindness Club.

It’s kids helping kids right in our own community.
GEFP Kindness Club

In 2020:

  • Groups of children in Glen Ellyn and Lombard walked door-to-door (with adult supervision!) in neighborhood food drives.
  • Two high schools competed to collect the most food for the Pantry.
  • Kids opened lemonade stands and donated the proceeds.
  • Others gave some of the money they received for birthdays or special occasions.

There are lots of ideas!

Here’s some quick ideas

Easy projects

  • Create birthday cards for our Birthday Bag program

Fundraisers

  • Set up a lemonade stand and donate the proceeds
  • Host a garage sale in your neighborhood and give part of the money you make
  • Donate some of the gifts you receive from your birthday or special event
Food drives
  • Go door-to-door (with an adult along) and collect food from your neighbors; the Pantry’s most needed items are posted on our home page every week!
  • Have a competition between grades or classes to collect the most food at your school
  • Ask people to bring birthday supplies (cake mixes, frosting, candles) to your birthday party; the Pantry needs them for our Birthday Bag program where we give a gift bag to clients on their special day
  • See if your scout troop can go on a scavenger hunt and collect the Pantry’s most needed items
Pantry will be closed starting at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving holiday and will re-open on Monday, Nov. 29
